John Calabro is the National Portfolio Manager and is a member of the credit committee.  He is responsible for overseeing and directing the interactions between HFG and its clients and for managing the team leaders, account executives and collateral analysts in the Portfolio Management Group. He assumed this role in August 2008, having joined HFG in June 2004 as its Senior Underwriter. Mr. Calabro has over thirty years of corporate finance experience, including over fifteen years specializing in cash flow and asset backed transactions.

Prior to HFG, Mr. Calabro held senior management positions at Capital Business Credit and Heller Financial, Inc. where he led teams of account executives and auditors in managing large portfolios of asset backed and cash flow transactions. Previously, he served in a variety of positions including Divisional Portfolio and Work-Out Manager, Underwriting Manager, and Marketing Manager. He also led project teams as Disaster Recovery Leader and Credit Re-engineering Project Manager.

Mr. Calabro holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University and a Master in Business Administration degree from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.
